The Consultant is called upon to assist customers and partners in deploying/integrating customer solutions with our customers' products. There may be some project management and opportunity scoping but customer expectation management and its technical fulfillment is required. Primary product focus will be towards our client's Network products and their integration with customers' networks and other equipment. EMEA-wide travelling will be required for onsite work with customers.
Delivers consulting project activities, ranging from client identification through final invoicing through the engagements requiring various interpersonal and technical skills.
Technical responsibilities may include, but not limited to, problem identification, systems architecture definition, hardware/software specification, design, implementation, testing, client training and solution deployment.
Engagement management activities may include, but not limited to, interaction with company and client managers and scheduling monitoring.
Identifies additional products/services opportunities in customer organization.
Responsible for customer interaction and engagement management, including product installations, creation and delivery of Statement of Work, engagement acceptance, and documentation follow up.
Develop and maintain working proficiency in our client's products and technologies through self-directed and formal training.
Working knowledge in TCP/IP networking, services such as DNS, switches, routers, and firewalls in LAN/WAN environments.
Experience with WireShark or other packet sniffing software or product will be helpful + ability to read/interpret traces.
Good familiarity with the CIFS protocol, with NFS experience a plus.
Experience with EMC Celerra, Network Appliance, Windows Storage Server or other NAS platforms.
EMC, Network Appliance or Microsoft Certifications a plus.
Have supported or administered Windows and UNIX platforms.
Have understanding of and implementation experience with ILM architectures, storage backup and restore technologies and application provisioning.
Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and KERBEROS implementations, specially users accounts and associated security policies and authentications.
Experience with Scripting and development in PERL or similar environments will be helpful.
Experience with competing ILM/Tiering products is highly desirable, for example EMC's Rainfinity FMA range.
Have understanding of and implementation experience of Backup and Restore Technologies and application provisioning.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
Ability to articulate and transfer complex ideas to a wide audience through both verbal and written communications, including customer presentations and training.
Excellent organizational, project management and leadership skills.
Experience working with and maintaining relationships with external customers and inter-organizational groups.
